GET INVOLVED
It takes a huge range of skills, talents and support to bring productions to life on this scale.
Beyond the stage and orchestra pit, Southern Light depends on dedicated people giving their time, experience and enthusiasm. Costumes are made, props are sourced, and scenery is built and moved. Lighting and sound transform performances. Volunteers answer emails, track budgets and spread the word about our shows. Productions are directed, dances are choreographed and notes are bashed. First aiders, chaperones and Health & Safety volunteers help keep everyone safe. Front of House teams welcome audiences, sell programmes and ice creams.
These are just some of the roles that make a production possible. Most go unseen by the audience, but every one of them matters.
You don't need to already be a member, and you don't need years of experience. If you'd like to be part of what we do, we'd love to hear from you.
For more than a century, Southern Light has given performers the opportunity to take part in some of musical theatre's most loved productions.
Due to exceptionally high interest from returning company members, we do not currently expect to hold auditions for new cast members for our 2027 production of Titanic The Musical. Should this change, details will be published on our website and social media channels.
We're always happy to hear from performers who may be interested in future productions, and we'd encourage you to register your interest below.
Every production relies on an enormous amount of work away from the spotlight.
From costumes, props and scenery to marketing, fundraising, technical theatre, administration and Front of House, there are countless ways to contribute to a successful season.
Whether you have professional experience, practical skills, creative ideas or simply the enthusiasm to lend a hand, we'd love to hear from you.
Bringing a large-scale musical to the stage requires more than performers and volunteers. Ticket sales cover only part of the cost of a production, and support from businesses, organisations and individual supporters plays an important role in helping us continue our work.
We regularly offer opportunities for programme advertising, production sponsorship and other partnerships that connect organisations with our audiences and membership.
If you'd like to discuss supporting a future production, we'd be delighted to hear from you.
